An Apostolic Church is a body of believers, headed up by an Apostle,
with a God-given Mission to the World. Acts 2:1-2
The 120 in the Upper Room were not all apostles, but they were all apostolic people. An apostolic person is someone who will go were they are sent, stay where they are put, and do what they can with what they’ve got until they receive fresh orders from heaven.John 17:20 “As the Father has sent Me, so send I you.” The Greek word here is ‘apostolos’. In Latin it’s ‘missio’.Characteristics of an Apostolic Church
Acts 4:23-37 paints a beautiful picture of how this apostolic company functioned:
Once the apostolic anointing is identified and understood, people will begin to move with it, releasing an army of believers into Holy Spirit directed and empowered service. Under an apostolic anointing the people receive Divine Placement, Direction & Destiny! Then the release of apostolic Power and Grace causes increase, multiplication and advancement. (Ps 115:14)Praise God, Victory Churches International is an Apostolic Movement!Yours for the Five-Fold Ministry working together for Gospel Globalization!

Phil 1:27 - “Let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent. I may hear of your affairs that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind, striving together for the faith of the gospel”
Unity of Vision and Purpose! At the Tower of Babel, God declared that if mankind worked together in unity that nothing would be impossible to them. Jesus said, “If two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them.” There is tremendous power in united effort. This is what has held Victory Churches together for the last forty years!
Regardless of which way the winds of change blow, we must continue to make a united, focused, passionate effort to fulfill our God-Given Vision! The vision acts as our magnetic north. It is what energizes us as a movement and keeps everyone focused. The vision is the energy behind all our efforts and the force that pushes us forward through all our problems. Don’t ever lose sight of it!
Yours for the fulfilling of the Victory Churches Vision and Purpose.

Phil 1:27 “Stand fast in one spirit, with one mind, striving together for the faith of the gospel.”
Unity attracts and releases God’s Anointing and Power. Division and strife repel it.
Gideon’s army had 300 fearless, prepared, and proven warriors all standing in their place - united in purpose, faith, and action. This small troop defeated an army of 135,000. God can still do more with less. God can still do more with 300 who will stand in their place, than He can with 32,000 attendees. And when Gideon’s 300 broke through, the whole nation benefitted.
When we all put aside our differences and come together with one mind and a loyal heart, we become an unstoppable force! It’s time for us to put our gifts, talents, and passions into the mix for a commitment to Gospel teamwork.

Matt 7:24 -27 “Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house: and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.”
Two men. Two houses. Two outcomes.
My wife and I took a team to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. A good portion of the houses had fallen down. They looked nice but had very little reinforcement and a poor foundation. Many people were killed in their own houses. There is a spiritual meaning here: in serving the Lord you are either building something that can protect you or something that can destroy you. Storms will always come, but it’s not the storms that destroy us. It’s the lack of a biblical foundation!
Digging Deep. The first church I built was on 43 acres of land in Lethbridge, Alberta. The building contractor told us we had to put concrete pillars down sixty feet because there was too much sand mixed in the soil.
Luke 6:46-49 “He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock.”
If you build your life on the rock of His word - your health, marriage, family, business, your entire life and future, will be eternally secure. God’s Word is faithful and true. All hell can break out against your life, but it will not collapse if it’s built on the foundation of His Word.
The Trial of Your Faith. Tests come to see if what you have is real. (1Pet 1:6-7) Hazel and I met 49 years ago and have been married for 45 years. We were both tempted to quit, but we were committed to stay and build a solid marriage. Dr. Phil and TD Jakes were discussing marriages in North America and said, “One out of two marriages end in divorce and it isn’t much better for those who go to church. But for those who go to church together AND pray together the divorce rate dropped to 1 in a 1000.” No wonder it’s so hard to pray together as a couple! But it’s worth it! Matt 16:18 “On this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

“Meanwhile praying for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.” - (Col 4:3-6)
Jesus said that Christians are to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. When believers walk as salt and light it causes evangelism by observation: “I like what I see, your lifestyle provokes me to change, to ask questions, to go out of my way to meet you.” Your lifestyle can open the door of opportunity to share the gospel of Christ. Live the life and share the life. The God you know is the God you show.
Three qualities are necessary to be salt and light:
Find The Open Doors
You don’t want to kick closed doors down, but neither should you just sit and wait for them to open. You have to talk to people to see if they are open. Every person you have opportunity to spent time with is an opportunity to develop a friendship and discover their stories. You can’t win people you won’t talk to. Put some effort into being likeable. You have to be good news to effectively share good news. If people don’t like you, they won’t listen to you. Get to know people. When people ask what changed your life, be ready to share your testimony.
Be Ready
Be ready always to give an answer of the hope that is within you. “Go home to your friends and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he has had compassion on you.” (Mark 5:19) Stay within your sphere of knowledge. If you don’t know, just say so. Avoid arguments and hair-splitting, you want to evangelize – not antagonize! It takes different baits to catch different fish. There is no one size fits all. Some come through love and some through fear. (Jude 23) Share your story but be sensitive to know when you have said enough.
Share The ABCs of Salvation (Matt 10:7)
Admit you are a sinner; all have sinned, you can’t get someone saved if they don’t know they are lost.
Believe Jesus is the Son of God, who died for you and rose again on the third day for your salvation.
Consider the cost - You have to let go of your old way of life to pick up the new.
Decide - Why is heaven so wonderful and hell so horrible? In order to make the choice easy!
Let’s not go to heaven alone - lets plunder hell and populate heaven!

Dissatisfaction can be a constructive force or very destructive one. It can either make you critical or creative. If your dissatisfaction is fueled by difficult circumstances or offences, it can move you to be destructive. But if it is driven by a yet-to-be-fulfilled promise of God, it can move you to make positive changes. Dissatisfied people can be highly motivated people, as long as they see the need for positive change.
Seven ways to turn the stress of change into positive action:
We are called to be thermostats, not thermometers. A thermometer just reports the temperature. A thermostat has power to change the temperature. Martin Luther King’s, “I Have A Dream” speech, is a powerful example of this. Caleb had a divine discontent created by a promise of God and a spirit of faith. (Jos 14:12) “Give me this mountain the one you promised me.”
As the Body of Christ, we are called to be World Changers and History Makers!
Yours for a Glorious, Victorious, Triumphant Church!

Nobody wants change just for the sake of change, because not all change is good. It can be very negative, depending on who is making the change and why. But we can’t prevent change from happening. It will either bless you or run you over like a steam roller. Here’s the key: change is inevitable, but growth is optional. You cannot grow without change, but you can change without growth. I can’t always change the world around me, but I can change the world within me! When the seasons change, we must learn to change with them. (Eccl 3:1-3)
Some things are ever-changing: Policies, methods, products, man’s laws, and man’s values all change. There are changes that are thrust upon us by society and by life itself. Then there are the unexpected, sudden tragedies: the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, a divorce, a bankruptcy, a new job, a new city, an unplanned pregnancy, a long-term sickness or disability, and so on. Too many changes all at once can be overwhelming.
Some things are never-changing: I thank God for the values and principles of life that never change. They are the only guarantee of living the abundant life that Jesus talked about. (John 10:10) Prayer still changes things, and more importantly - it changes me. Bible reading still strengthens me and gives me peace and joy like nothing else I know! Most of all I’m glad He said, “I am the Lord, I do not change.” (Mal 3:6) Who He was – He still is! What He said – He is still saying! What He did – He is still doing today! “He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:5)
The more we are changed into the image of Christ, the better
we will be able to deal with the changing world around us.
The Process of change: Rom 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” We all enjoy the blessings of positive change; what we hate is the process of change. Don’t wait until you hurt so much that you have to change. It’s better to learn enough that we want to change, and then receive enough from God that we can change.
All change begins in the mind with our thoughts, then our speech which affects how we feel and creates the right desires, choices, actions and continued actions. Every bad habit, attitude or addiction can be destroyed, and a new set of godly disciplines, habits and attitudes can be developed that will bring righteousness, peace and joy into our lives. Life just gets better and better!
2 Cor 3:18 “We are being changed from glory to glory into the image of Christ.” The more we are changed into the image of Christ, the better we will be able to deal with the changing world around us. And the more we will be able to make a difference in the way the world around us changes. As we cultivate Heaven’s Culture within ourselves, we can begin to create Heaven’s Culture around ourselves.
The Serenity Prayer: ‘God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.’
The greatest key to miracles and success is the ability to change when change is required!

“Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause, and let them say continually, “let the LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant." Psalm 35:27
1. God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants who favor His righteous cause.
"For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil." (1Tim 6:10) Money is not the root of all evil. Rather, it’s the love of money or a wrong relationship with financial and material things. You can have this even when you have no money. Money takes on the character and the nature of the person whose hands it is in. When it’s in the hands of a righteous person, it will be used for righteous purposes. When it’s in the hands of an evil person it will be used for evil. (Matt 6:33) “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you." If you do this, you will inherit everything and miss out on nothing.
2. You favor Gods righteous cause by:
i. Making His work your priority.
ii. Using what He has blessed you with to further His work.
In Luke 5:3-7, Peter let Jesus use his fishing boat as a pulpit from which to preach to the multitude. Then the miracle of increase and multiplication took place. Peter knew how to fish, but Jesus knew where the fish were biting. He knows how to grow your business when you link it to His business!
3. Sacrifice releases the power of God
A young lad was willing to give his small lunch to Jesus. (John 6:8-14) This young man’s sacrifice released the life and miracle working power of Christ and five thousand hungry men were fed. The principle we learn here, is that your little becomes much when it’s placed in the Master’s hands.
(Rom 12:1) “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” It’s not unreasonable for Christ to ask believers to sacrifice something for the gospel’s sake!
The first church I ever planted grew to be one of the largest churches of its kind in Canada. Then the Lord spoke to my heart in 1988 and told me to release it to my associate pastor and start Victory Churches of Canada. This movement is built on the sacrifices of a lot of people. What is built on sacrifice the Devil cannot destroy!! Read Psalm 50:5.
4. God favors and honors His obedient servants
“There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.” (Prov 11:24)
The first time I ever released a key leader to plant another church, the Lord spoke to my heart from this passage of scripture and said, “For everyone you release I will give you two of like quality and character.” When I did my part, God did His part and multiplied our leadership base. (John 12:26) “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me, and where I am, there My servant will also be. If anyone serves Me, him will My Father honor."
May you live in God’s favor as you favor God’s righteous cause!

“Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” Luke 2:52
Definition of Favor: “An act of kindness beyond what is due or usual.” Favor is the secret to uncommon success.
Three Ways To Increase In Wisdom And Favor With God And Men:
1. Live your life in such a way that you will find favor with God and the right people.
Psalm 5:12 “For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous: With favor You will surround him as with a shield.”
Prov 16:7 “When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him”
Matt 6:33 “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (His right way of doing things), and all these things shall be added to you.” When you put God first you miss out on nothing and inherit everything!
2. Perseverance during the pain of correction is vital if you want long term favor.
Psalm 30:5 “His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life;” Long term favor after short term pain.
James 5:11 “We count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord - that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.” God always intends to do you good!
Job said: “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” Keeping the right heart attitude will keep you moving in the right direction!
Heb 12:11 “No chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterwards it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." Don’t give up! Joy comes in the morning!
3. Sowing favor towards others can cause you to reap favor with others.
Psalm 112:5 “A good man shows favor.” Do something good for someone today!
Prov 11:27 “He who earnestly seeks good finds favor”
Ruth 2:2 “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.” Ruth sowed love and kindness towards her mother in law Naomi. Boaz, heard of Ruth’s kindness and began to show favor towards her. God always has someone watching you who has the ability to bring you into your next season of blessing. Whenever possible, sow grace and love into the lives of others.
Psalm 102:13 “For the time to favor her. Yes, the set time, has come.” The set time is when the fruit of your labor and the time of Gods favor come together at the same time. That’s called manifestation time! Learn to recognize God’s favor when it comes your way and be sure to give all the praise and glory to God. (Ps 119:164)
Yours for increased favor and extraordinary success!

God cares about the generations to come. That’s one reason he chose to bless Abraham. “For I have known him in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice.”(Gen 18:18-19)
Passing on generational blessing is like a relay race: its won or lost in passing on the baton. “The genuine faith that is in you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.” (2 Tim 1:5-7)
The next generation should be able to stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before them. They should be able to see more, do more, and take off from where the last generation left off. (Psalm 78:1-8). In Judges 2:7-10, we see that Joshua’s generation failed to pass their faith on to the next generation and, as a result, their children walked away from the things of God. Why?
1. They failed to drive out the enemy and possess the land. They let their enemies remain in the land and it eventually caused much heartache. When you get saved God wants you to clean up your life! He wants you to remove the enemies from your life and conduct. Drive them out little by little if necessary - but do it. If you don’t eliminate your character weaknesses and bondages, they often show up amplified in your children. A breakthrough in your life is a breakthrough for all your descendants!
A magazine once gave some interesting statistics: One man, Max Jukes, did not believe in religion and married a girl of the same opinion. From this union came 1,026 descendants. Research found that 300 had died prematurely; 100 were sent to the penitentiary; 190 sold themselves to vice; 100 were drunkards. That family eventually cost the state of New York millions of dollars! Another man, Jonathan Edwards, believed in God and married a girl of like character. From that union 729 descendants were produced. They discovered that 300 were preachers; 65 were College Professors; 13 University Presidents; 6 authors; 3 Congressmen; and 1 United States Vice President.
A BREAKTHROUGH IN YOUR LIFE IS A BREAKTHROUGH FOR ALL YOUR DESCENDANTS!
2. They didn’t train their children in the ways of the Lord. The transfer of your faith and your value system doesn’t just happen automatically. That’s why God instructed them to recount his blessings over and over again. “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Prov 22:6). The word ‘training’ here, implies four things:
1. To drill the word of God into your child
2. To prepare for a contest
3. To instruct by exercise
4. To discipline for use
Children don’t automatically obey - they have to be trained to obey. You must train your children when they are young. Teach them how to make good decisions. Teach your children to accept responsibility and make sure they follow through. Teach them how to pray, by precept and example. Teach them how to tithe. Teach them faithfulness and loyalty, by being faithful and loyal yourself. Teach them the importance of church, by attending church yourself.
The Apostle John said, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” (3 John 4)

In Acts 11:23 Barnabus, ‘Saw the grace of God, and was glad.’ God’s grace at work amongst them was readily observable. When God’s goodness towards us far exceeds our deservedness – that’s favor!
1. Before we can walk with God we have to spend some-time waiting on God
Psalm 42:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”
Ex 24:12-18 “Come up to Me on the mountain and be there.” Moses waited there seven days before God said anything to him.
Acts 13:2-3 “As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Through waiting on the Lord and fasting they received, “Holy Spirit-directed and empowered service.”
Isa 30:18 “Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; ….Blessed are all those who wait for Him.”
Isa 64:4 “God….who acts for the one who waits for Him.”
2. The Lord waits for you to wait, so that He can be gracious to you.
This truth is also expressed in Psalm 37: 4-5: “Delight yourself also in the Lord [Our part] and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” [God’s part]. “Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, [Our Part] and He shall bring it to pass.” [God’s part].
When we do our part, God will do His part, and we will experience a continuous flow of His grace and favor.
3. Waiting on God during tough times works Transformation and Maturity in us.
Is 50:10 “Who among you fears the Lord? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely upon his God.”
“Lord, I don’t understand what’s happening, it doesn’t seem right, it doesn’t seem fair, but I trust you. I will do my best and trust God for the rest.” This is when transformation and maturity work in us. (Rom 8:28)
Charles Spurgeon said, “God is too good to be unkind, He is too wise to be confused, and if I cannot trace His hand, I can always trust His heart.”
4. Waiting on God is a very positive and rewarding practice:
Isa 40:31 “Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
Wow! New Strength, Fresh Perspective, and New Endurance. What a deal! Count me in!
2018 is our year of Grace and Favor
